About

Raanan lives and works in Hod Hasharon.

Photographer. Artist.

Raanan's works explore themes of identity, gender and memory. Using the camera as a stage, Raanan creates artworks that combine candid and staged photography with acting and performance. Assuming different identities, he examines the relationship between them and himself.

Raanan is the son of a Tel Aviv Bauhaus expert and a city planner. Raised by two architects, Raanan was exposed to different aspects of western and far eastern cultures from an early age. As an adolescent, he lived in London for close to six years.

Before becoming an artist, Raanan worked for over 30 years as a graphic designer specializing in software UI.

Harboring an acute awareness for the mind-body connection, Raanan is also a certified movement therapist ('Rio Abierto').
